Liz Ferris is a licensed social worker and certified alcohol and drug counselor. She received her
undergraduate degree from Drexel University while working with The Haven at College and
Drexel University’s Counseling Center to help support students going back into college and find
a sustainable supportive recovery within a college environment. Liz was able to use her
experience working on the Transforming Youth Recovery grant and with community resources
in her case management work with local sober living homes. While, Liz was able to collaborate
with students from local universities to create collegiate recovery programs for current and
returning students dealing with substance use. She received her Master’s in Social Work at
Bryn Mawr College and has spent the last two years working with adolescents and young adults
with co-occurring mental health and substance use at the IOP level of care. Liz believes in
engaging entire family in treatment as well as prevention. Liz believes in the education of
individuals and family as well as a strengths-based approach in challenging individuals to go
beyond presenting issues through exploring relationships and family systems to create a more
comprehensive awareness and understanding of self.
