Lauren is currently on track to graduate in the online mental health counseling and wellness Master’s program at NYU, graduating in the summer of 2021. She is currently practicing as an intern counselor on an individual and group level with substance abuse and mental health clients. Lauren believes every individual who walks through the door is a culmination of their environment growing up. She believes every individual has the ability to grow and change. Lauren believes in
the importance of unconditional love and support in the counseling setting, using a trauma-sensitive approach to treatment. Lauren is available to help all clients seeking help, specifically interested in individuals struggling with developmental trauma, eating disorders, and personality disorders. Lauren uses a psychodynamic lens, stressing the importance of mending and validating each client’s past. Lauren uses techniques in CBT, DBT, and ACT in order to help alleviate her clients’ current symptoms. After mending the past and alleviating difficult symptoms in the present, she and her clients collaboratively identify values, creating actions in line with their values in order to create a meaningful life. Her career trajectory includes seeking training in EMDR, experiential therapy, and gestalt therapy.
